Martin Hopkins

I am the Managing Partner at Birkett Long and I have specialised in employment law since I qualified as a solicitor in 1998.

I have a wide experience of employment issues acting for both employers and employees at Employment Tribunals and the Employment Appeal Tribunal.

Employment law is continuously changing and becoming increasingly complicated so I ensure that my clients are aware of all necessary information and are prepared for any upcoming changes. I often speak at seminars and workshops so I can help employers stay up to date on any employment law changes.

I also have specialist knowledge in the employment sector of the construction industry, such as employment definitions and relations, TUPE, change management, redundancy and restructure.

I am the Chair of Trustees of the MS-UK charity, and Chair of Colchester Scout Band, whilst being a member of the following organisations:
